Berkeley Free Clinic 2339 Durant Ave between Dana and Ellsworth, Berkeley. Open Mon-Fri from 3pm-9pm; Sat. 12pm-3pm and 6pm-9pm. TB services are only offered on Tuesday’s from 3pm-9pm. The BFC is open for telephone calls and first-come-first-served general medical services. Please call before 5:45 PM to arrange a same-evening appointment. The clinic is prepared to treat basic men's STDs, colds and sore throats, simple rashes, and skin concerns. Also tests for TB and pregnancy testing. Limited treatment for ear problems, lower respiratory concerns and urinary tract infections in women. Shelters
Harrison House Emergency Shelter – Berkeley-Oakland Support Services (BOSS) 711 Harrison St. (at 4th.) in Berkeley. You must be referred through the Berkeley Shelter Hotline at (866)-960-2132. Shelter is closed from 9am-5pm every day, open 24 hours for families. There is a separate wing for women and children. No minors are allowed unless accompanied by guardian. Facilities can accommodate 90 people. Free breakfast and dinner. Showers available Mon-Fri 7-10pm. Try to bring your own towel and soap. Wheelchair accessible. (510) 843-3700 |
Youth Emergency Assistance Hostel (YEAH!) 1744 University Ave (between Grant and McGee). Year-round counseling and case management services (jobs, education, government assistance program help). For youth 18-24 years old. Seasonal shelter (Nov-Apr). Call for availability. Meals, showers, mats with fresh sheets, clean socks and underwear. Separate quarters for women.
